Florida Catholic Men is a new ministry to men launched in 2007 by the
Diocesan Center for Family Life (DCFL). The
DCFL, co-founded in 1977 by the
Diocese of St. Augustine and
St. Vincent’s Medical Center, offers a
variety of programs that support, enrich and defend human life and the
family.
Florida Catholic Men (FCM) recognizes that men need special inspiration,
example and support from other men to live out their Christian faith.
The main vehicle that FCM will employ to serve this need is a large
annual men’s conference, the first of which will occur on April 19, 2008
at the magnificently restored
Florida Theatre in Jacksonville. The Florida Theatre has a limited
capacity of 2000, and FCM anticipates a sell-out.
“Faith of Our Fathers” is the theme of the first conference. All
Christians, men and women alike, are called by God to pass on the Faith
to each new generation, just as we received it. It is the unique duty of
men, though, to respond to this call as sons, brothers, husbands, and
fathers. What special dangers, challenges and opportunities do we face
as men? How can we respond better together?
